Dear Friends:
Thank you for visiting our website. Before I can give you a brief introduction about CDC, I would like to humbly share with you this news article that was written by one of my colleagues, and was published in one of the local newspapers. I would also like to share some of the highlights of the highly appreciated responses and comments about the article from CDC Friends, Customers and Suppliers.
In Today’s Harsh Economic Times
Think Positive And You Will Succeed
My name is Jack. I am a Chinese Canadian immigrant originally from Henan Province. I came to this country about 7 years ago with a student visa. I studied at Centennial College, and after I graduated as a bookkeeper, I needed to obtain some work experience. Therefore, my college counsellor placed me with a small Limousine and Bus Company called “Canadian Delta Coach and Limo Service” (CDC) to be trained and do my co-op.
When I first worked with CDC, I was so nervous because I thought my Chinese accent was very difficult to be understood, and I thought that I would not last more than 3 months on this job. However later on, I found out that my accent had nothing to do with my job, and that by doing my job to the best of my ability; I would not have to worry.
I also found out that most of my fellow co-workers at CDC were not Canadian born, and they too have some sort of an accent since most of them were recent immigrants from all over the world just like me. Even our boss Mr. Harry Malawi, the owner of CDC is an immigrant. He came to Canada about 45 years ago, looking for the same Canadian Dream of every immigrant who comes to Canada: “To have a good job, a good life, and a good family and to be self employed and have his/her own business someday”.
CDC is a family owned and operated company and everyone here is treated like brothers and sisters or sons and daughters. I feel very comfortable working with CDC; it is as if I am one of their sons. I also realized that everyone has the same opportunity that I had in working with CDC regardless of their race, color, religion or accent.
Mr. Malawi believes that it does not matter who you are, or where you come from; you too could have a place in his company as long as you are willing to work and learn. He always says that; “you should not be afraid to try something new in business, as long as you believe in yourself and your abilities.
It amazes me that everyone at CDC works as a team and care about each other. Everyone is committed to the success of CDC. Mr. Malawi believes that CDC employees work with him and not for him and they are the most valuable assets of CDC. He further believes that the employees are the ambassadors and the grass roots of CDC. He always gives us praise and confidence and he always believes that; “God will provide”. I see him as a friend, a fatherly image, an honest, caring, optimistic, and hard working person.
When I started with CDC about 5 years ago, I thought I would not last more than 3 months. Today 5 years, I have many varied responsibilities on a daily basis. CDC relies on me on one hand, and helps me a lot in every way possible.
I started with CDC as a junior book-keeper, and today I am “Jack of all Trades” CDC has trained me to be a limousine dispatcher, limousine driver, accountant, tour guide/ meets and greets person, as well as public relations and English/ Chinese translator.
CDC has also sponsored me to get my landed immigrant status, and today I am proud to be a Chinese Canadian landed immigrant, and look forward to becoming a Canadian Citizen.
When I first started, CDC was operating from small offices in Etobicoke with few buses and limousines. Today CDC has an impressive large office/ garage building with a large fleet of late model vehicles ranging from luxury sedans and stretch Limos to vans, mini and midsize coaches, as well as several 56 passenger highway coaches to suit every need, occasion and budget.
CDC services include: Airport trips, weddings, proms, graduations, night on the town, casino tour, city and Niagara Falls tours as well as shuttle and chartered bus services all over Canada and USA.
CDC is committed to growth and expansion, especially during these hard economic times. Mr. Malawi believes that in order for anyone to survive this unfortunate global recession we have to be optimistic, hardworking and use our ingenuity and creativity.
Mr. Malawi decided to offer large discounted rates in order to help save on transportation needs, and at the same time keep his employees and vehicles working.
Mr. Malawi has been helping many struggling individuals and companies by offering them low discounted rates HARRY MALAWI
on their transportation costs. He has discounted his prices so low; sometimes even below cost, just to help out his hard-hit customers. He even offers them some of his services on a contra/ barter basis, whenever possible.
This kind of good deed, along with the tremendous staff loyalty, as well as the amazing devotion, patronage and support of CDC friends, Customers and Suppliers, and their “Good Word of Mouth” has enabled CDC to survive and prosper.
CDC has expanded its operations to Montreal and Ottawa with plans to expand in near future Canada-wide and beyond. Mr. Malawi believes that it is a good time to invest and expand, as the prices and the interest rates are low and the potential for profit is quite high and the good days will be back again.
In order to help CDC in expanding its operations, and as a goodwill gesture, CDC is offering a job opportunities in many fields, and is willing to train any qualified person. CDC also offering investment opportunities and is willing to help finance any potential investor.
From: Stenbacka Säde Dear Friends: My name is Harry Malawi.
Like most small business owners, I am honoured to be the President, Operations Manager and occasional Driver of a small
family business that has been operating limousine and mini coach services in the Greater Toronto Area, and particularly
at YYZ Pearson International Airport, for over 3 decades. Most of my clients can reach me by phone 24 hours a day, 365
days a year, and they recognize my voice as well as I recognize theirs. CDC
has grown from our humble beginnings in the early 70's, with merely two vehicles, to today's impressive fleet of coaches
and limousines with various sizes, makes and models to suit every occasion and need. Today, CDC is considered to be one of
the best and largest transportation companies of its kind in the GTA. The primary
reason for CDC's success and tremendous growth is our devoted customers and loyal staff. Our customer loyalty, repeat
patronage and support and word of mouth (to which we are forever grateful), have indeed played a great role in our growth.
As for our drivers and staff, I have always considered them to be one of CDC's most valuable assets. I am humbled
and honoured to have well trained and loyal professionals that work with us and not for us.

Hi Harry
Very nice article and well deserved. You run an excellent business and you deserve to reap the rewards of your hard work.

Dear Harry,
In September 2007, Glen, my husband and I contracted your wonderful charter bus services to transport our families to and from Hillebrand Winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, where we enjoyed a wonderful wedding celebration. Your driver was terrific and personable and your company's pricing competitive.
The article you just sent me is a touching statement from one of your staff members about your policies, your employees and your company. Congratulations. It is a large achievement, I know, as the daughter of two independent business owners.
In my own life, I am a Senior Marketing and Communications Specialist and I am also a Mentor in the ACCES program which assists new immigrants to Canada. Currently, I have a Mentee named Nurullo Makhmudov who I am coaching to help him find work in his area of specialization - Marketing.
As we all know, it is a challenging time to do business and to find work in Canada now, as it is in many countries around the world. Would you mind if I passed along this article to Nurullo for a little inspiration on those days when he needs it - and also to my family who helped Glen and I celebrate our wedding?
Thank you for sending this poignant story and please do keep up the great work. It's a true testimony to have your employees write so glowingly about how you have built a company while helping many individuals find their personal strengths with dignity. It's also good to know that people like you help continue the tradition of making Canada a welcoming place for immigrants.
Happy Canada Day to you, your family and your staff !
Sincerely,
Susan Lilholt

Harry,
Very impressive.
It has been an absolute pleasure doing business with CDC over the past 5 years. Your beliefs and strong values filter through to your employees and it is what sets CDC apart from the others.
I've got to tell you this story because I'm not sure if Sharon ever told you on how we (Bantrel & CDC) came to do business together.
It was September 2004. I was driving my vehicle in heavy rush hour traffic in downtown Toronto (Adelaide east of University). As the flow of traffic was at a snails pace, I was able to be more attentive to other things than just the cars. As I approached the Sheraton Centre Hotel, I noticed a very sleek looking Luxury Limo Bus parked on the side. I also noticed the driver's professionalism as he loaded luggage onto the bus. And it seemed the passengers were getting along great with him as was evident by their smiles & laughter. As our company was in the need for some transportation services for an upcoming Board Meeting, I jotted down the CDC telephone number from the back of the bus. The rest is history.
I did have the pleasure of meeting you while preparing the transportation for that Board Meeting. You made it so simple and convinced us that everything was under control (which it was). Even with a number of flight delays and picking up our Executives at different terminals, your team managed it wonderfully. We received many compliments that night thanks to CDC (the red carpet treatment was the talk of the meeting). Sharon and I witnessed firsthand the level of professionalism as we got to ride in the limos as well.
And on a personal note, because of your wonderful service I've been arranging the airport transportation through CDC when we embark on our family vacations (8 people). I'll never forget the first year when a extended luxury SUV Excursion limousine pulled up to my home to pick us up. My family was impressed, especially the kids. Even the neighborhood kids came around. It's one of the rare times us average people get to travel in class. It bought me some brownie points too. Thank you.
The last 2 times we've had the extended van, another stylish vehicle.
You guys have always been on time to pick us up. I look forward to booking again in a couple of weeks when we embark on another one of our experiences. CDC has become a part of our wonderful vacation memories.
Thanks again and I wish CDC continued success. You truly are a class act.
Cheers.
